Stepping on up

So I did it, what exactly did I do you might wonder? I got a bike, its a 2005 Yamaha FZ6. Riding around on my Strada rx200hp for the past year has been awesome but theres something in me that just wants to push it a little further and a little harder. I found a really good deal on an FZ6 locally and decided I just had to pull the trigger (so to speak). The way I drive this rx200hp it was only a matter of time. I ride pretty much WOT and really work the scoot to its max (which is ~63mph on the highway). Now I don't plan to replace the scooter but just add my new Fizzy into the mix. The scooter has just been too good to me and has a number of advantages over my new bike. For one it gets great gas mileage, has plenty of power for around the city and most highways, plenty of storage, and I can park it almost anywhere. With the new bike however I will be able to take longer and faster trips so its really win win. This blog will still be here but now I will be sharing my time between my two babies. Here she is (my new baby):

Congrats! I'm going to be picking up a RX200 or RX150i in a month or so as a first motorbike. Your blog has been very helpful in my search for shooterss. Before finding your blog I was thinking these cheap Chinese scooters seem the perfect stepping stone. Some of us want to get into motorcycles but are a little intimidated with the starting power and price of most sport bikes available here in the States. After reading your blog and now seeing you moved up to a bigger bike, it gives me great confidence in my plan to start with a scooter then move to a pricy BMW Street/Sport bike later.

Congratulations! Good choice!

I went the other way, from an '04 R1 to the RX200. Funny that we both stuck with the blue and black!

I'm sure you're going to have a blast.

If you have any questions abou the Yamaha feel free to PM me on the scooter forums.

After reading all your problems, Car, wrecked scooter, if I were you I would consider taking a cab, looks like heavy traffic in your town,, cars trucks etc have no mercy if once bitten, The autos just do not look out for any 2 wheeler, your crunched and they say, " Damn I am sorry " Your tore up and they are sorry? Yea right. I wish you all the best, Do not give the hospitals or the last resort any of your business, Look at the Tomahawk cycle Viper V-10 300 MPH plus-250,000.00 Wahooooooooooo,,,,

Congratulations on the new ride. I've been riding a Vespa LX150 for the past 18 months until I killed it a few weeks ago with some fine do-it-yourself maintenance. A couple of days ago I replaced it with a new Vespa GTS.

I wanted more power and stability to increase the range of trips I can make. I passed on the Triumph Scrambler again because I remain smitten by the twist and go scooters...
